Inger E. Johnson author of Veiled Halos, The Muzo Emerald Murders, host of the Your Book Is In There podcast and ARC reader

I’m not a writing guru. I’m just a person who discovered there were stories in me I couldn’t ignore.

Hi, I’m Inger E. Johnson

AUTHOR · PODCAST HOST · ARC READER
· ACCIDENTAL NOVELIST

Born and raised in Cali, Colombia, I immigrated with my parents to the United States at fifteen following a period of political unrest in Colombia. I’m a recovering banker and financial planner. Along the way, I earned advanced degrees, lived abroad in places including Austria, Chile, and Uruguay, and collected enough life experience to fill more than one novel.

But the role I treasure most is being surrounded by a loving family. I credit my parents and brother for giving me strong roots, unwavering love, and the moral compass that continues to guide my life. I’m also deeply grateful to be a wife and mom to the best husband and son in the world.

I’m not a publishing expert. I’m not a bestselling author — yet. I’m a first-time author who accidentally wrote one novel… and then started writing a second before the first was even finished.

I came to writing later in life than I ever expected, and somewhere along the way discovered not only a love for storytelling, but an entire world of independent authors and readers I never knew existed.

Most podcasts and YouTube channels about publishing seem to assume you already have an audience, a newsletter, a marketing strategy, three books in a series, and a fully developed author brand.

I started Your Book Is In There because I couldn’t find the podcast I actually needed — the one that starts at the beginning, tells the truth, and doesn’t make you feel behind before you’ve even started.

“Your book really is in there. Let’s get it out.”
